Deep Freeze News |
Home | Releases July 2006The summer is hot, real hot…and so are the two new releases on Deep Freeze which are out now! The Electronic Boogie Band are back and their Electro Boogie EP (DF024) effortlessly blends electrofunk, house and proto-house in that very particular boogie style. DJ Mag awarded it a 'Sureplayer' in the Electro section and IDJ declared that it was 'Ace all round'. DJ support has come from Chicken Lips, Ralph Lawson, Chris Duckenfield, Satoshi Tomiie, The Unabombers, Stu Patterson, Jimpster, Fabrice Lig, Zwicker, and Tomas Barford (Who Made Who) amongst others. Following on from the EBB’s excellent slab of electrofunk are the remixes of Phresh n Low (DF025). This really is an amazing package of remixes which stretch the originals in a variety of refreshing directions. Alex Smoke produces an incredibly emotive piece of minimal glitch tech funk on his wicked remix of 'Body2Beat'. This one has been getting great support from the DJs with everyone from Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay to Justin from the Unabombers loving it. Then The Freaks take no prisoners on their wacked out acid house meets electro remix of 'New Wave Bang'. Finally, Ben Cook head honcho of disco dubhead label Rong Music lays down some wicked beats and nu-disco grooves with his reworking of ‘Communicate’. DJ Mag wrote that “Deep Freeze is in flying form” while IDJ described it as “very underground and rather tasty”. DJ Play from Groove Armada, Chicken Lips, Chris Duckenfield, Satoshi Tomiie, Ralph Lawson, Fabrice Lig, The Unabombers, Tomas Barford, Zwicker, Liptrick and Eclat. All DF releases are available on vinyl from Intergroove and on download from Intergroove, Beatport, Clickgroove and DJ Download.
